Bulk Excavation & Mass Rock Excavation
Due to the high site costs and planning restrictions, clients are forced to go down using multi-storey basement construction to provide car parking and plant room areas. This results in deep bulk excavations and disposal of excavated material, often rock. We have a fleet of large tracked excavators up to 50 ton and use these for bulk excavations. Rock breakers up to 5 ton weight are used for breaking out rock encountered which is often crushed and recycled. All excavated soil which is not suitable for reuse, is disposed off site to permitted landfill sites. Up to 250 loads of soil have been disposed off sites per day, where conditions are right.
We also have experience in decontaminating brownfield sites. Contaminated soil is disposed off site to specially licensed landfill sites or is exported out of the country by barge to Germany or Poland. This has been a common problem around Dublin dockland site areas where we have successfully remediated a number of sites.
